Pointing out that Rod Rosenstein is a Republican appointee, Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blasted the Republicans for having no shame. The Democratic Leader said that attack on Rosenstein is an attack on the Mueller investigation and attempt by Rep. Jim Jordan to deflect from the scrutiny he’s under in Ohio.
“The attack on Rosenstein, of course, is an attack on the Mueller investigation. Rosenstein is a Republican appointee, Rosenstein was appointed by the president of the United States… Just when you think you have seen it all, Republicans have no shame… what they are making is a statement: President Trump is above the law.”

Kyle Griffin pointed out Leader Pelosi’s observation that she doesn’t know their motivation but she’s heard Jim Jordan is trying to deflect from his own scandal.
“I don’t know, but what I’ve heard is Jim Jordan wants to take attention away from the scrutiny that he is under in Ohio, that could be a part of it,” the Democratic Leader added.

The Republicans who brought forth the Rosenstein impeachment resolution deserve to be voted out of office. Not only is this unlikely to get a vote soon, but Rosenstein has done nothing to even come near constitutional impeachment standards.
What Republicans have done is lower the bar for impeachment, which is probably not a great idea given the many actual crimes for which their president is currently under investigation.
Leader Pelosi is right, Republicans are shameless. They don’t even make an attempt to not appear hypocritical anymore. They’re all-in on Trump, in spite of his possible and likely collusion with a hostile foreign power that is attacking our country right now. The threat to impeach their own president’s appointee is nothing less than attempted collusion to protect President Trump from the Mueller investigation.
