Democrats Tell Rep. Louie Gohmert To Take His Meds As He Goes Bonkers At Strzok Hearing

Republicans hit their red line desperation point at the Strzok hearing when Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) called Peter Strzok a liar and brought up an affair that he had. Democrats responded by asking a frothing Gohmert if he needed his meds.

Video:

With their conspiracy theory falling apart, Rep. Gohmert said, “There is a disgrace and it won’t be recaptured any time soon because of the damage you’ve done to the justice system. And I’ve talked to FBI agents around the country. You’ve embarrassed them. You’ve embarrassed yourself and I can’t help but wonder when I see you looking there with a little smirk how many times did you look so innocent into your wife’s eye and lie to her about Lisa –”

>> Democrats starting loudly objecting, “Mr. Chairman, this is outrageous, Mr. Chairman, please!, Mr. Chairman, this is intolerable harassment of the witness.”

Finally, a Democratic member of the committee asked Gohmert, “Do you need your medication?”

Gohmert’s line of questioning was a symptom of the growing Republican desperation. They have been looking for something that they take back to Trump to give him cover to fire Rosenstein and shut down Mueller all day long. Peter Strzok has owned the Republican majority all day. Democrats have been turning the tables at every opportunity, and the made for Fox News Strzok hearing has been an unmitigated disaster.

The Peter Strzok conspiracy is a Republican distraction from the evidence and issues surrounding Trump and Russia. It is a circus, and House Republicans are trying to get one little out of this fiasco that they can use as justification for shutting the Russia investigation down.

It hasn’t worked.

The hearing has made the GOP look crazy, and made the rest of the country ask that if like Louie Gohmert, the Republican Party needs their meds.
