A group of two dozen Democratic lawmakers could not contain their disgust, sadness, and rage after getting a tour of the inside of Trump’s migrant child prison.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) said, “The first place that we visited had nothing on the floor. These were small children, many of them under the age of five who were separated from their parents, and were crying. Here they actually have a mat on which to sleep. But it is for all intents and purposes, a prison. They are cages.”
We have a situation where children are sleeping alone on mats in cages and Trump has no problem with it.
Rep. Jim Himes said, (D-CT) said, “Something happened this morning that I will never forget. My colleagues from Connecticut, and four of us are here, approached one of these holding cells and there were just mounds of silver mylar. And we asked to speak to somebody who was there, and as they opened the door, these twenty or thirty mounds of silver mylar became little girls. They stood up; they were scared, some had been crying.”
We have now found the little girls. Trump has them in cages too.
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) said through tears, “I have a grandson who we adopted eleven years ago from Guatemala. And as I look in those cages and I see these little tykes on the floor covered in mylar, and I see a little boy –and I pointed to my staffers who is here — with that same dark hair, and those teeth are exactly the same. It was my Teo who was there on the ground.”
Each of these children could be your sons/daughters, grandkids, nieces, or nephews. This is not America. This is not who we are. This is who we must not let Donald Trump make us become.
