Mika Attacks Ivanka, Says Response to Baby Jails Is a “Joke”

Mika Brzezinski from Morning Joe is a passionate person, and she is not shy expressing her opinions, even when they contradict her co-host Joe Scarborough, who is a former Republican Congressman.

Lately she has been passionately asking first daughter Ivanka Trump to take a stand against the her father’s horrible family separation policies. To put it mildly, Mika has been critical of Ivanka, and has said many times that she thinks more should be done. But the president’s daughter has always responded (in private, according to Mika) by insisting that she’s doing enough.

Most recently Mika went ballistic in response to Ivanka’s lame attempt to deal with the situation via Twitter, calling it a “joke.”

After her father’s confusing executive order was issued yesterday Ivanka tweeted:

“Thank you @POTUS for taking critical action ending family separation at our border. Congress must now act + find a lasting solution that is consistent with our shared values;the same values that so many come here seeking as they endeavor to create a better life for their families.”

Since Ivanka Trump has positioned herself as an advocate for women and families, Brzezinski said she had failed her “moral duty” by not doing more.

Ivanka’s father has NOT ended family separation at the border.  He has no plan to do this.  All his new order will do is illegally jail children with their parents, so it is doomed to failure.

Mika on this morning’s show made clear that she has been reaching out to Ivanka, almost begging her to do more, but her overtures have been rebuffed. According to Mika, she has “lost trust” in Ivanka.

“I texted her, and I have it right here, because i wanted to talk to her, but I wanted to make it very clear the parameters of this conversation would be very clear and that I wasn’t going to be just a trusting (friend) any more,” Brzezinski said. “I’ve lost trust, and I said unless you can tell me where the little girls and toddlers are, and the intention of this administration is to reunite these families right away, now, that there’s nothing to talk about.”

Brzezinski also said she wants to talk to Ivanka Trump on the record but she was very disappointed in her response.

“She wrote me back off the record, so I won’t mention what she wrote off the record, because that would be wrong,” Brzezinski said. “But it was kind of a just placating group of sentences, some that didn’t make sense, basically saying, talk is cheap or that she was making efforts.”

“I wrote back on the record, unless you can speak out in public for mothers and women and babies, and that she might want to understand that this is her moment, to talk about the ideals that this country (were) created on, the morals that this country holds close for the rest of the world,” Mika continued.

“If she could show the world that she cares about mothers and children, that would be good, and that if she can’t, that no one is going to ever respect her again because this whole thing is a joke, this position that she holds is a joke.”

Kudos to Mika Brzezinski for calling out Ivanka Trump for her lack of response and her seeming lack of concern for the children being held prisoner in concentration camps by her father.  What Ivanka has said so far truly is a “joke” and everybody knows it.  If there was any “trust” before in Ivanka, then that is surely gone by now.
