The ABC television network has a hit show with the Roseanne reboot, but they may have to rethink their sponsorship of the show as the star actress is going further and further off the deep end politically.
Roseanne is known to be a Donald Trump supporter but her latest outburst has gone beyond conservative right-wing politics into the realms of hatred and lunacy.
People on twitter are not amused by the comedienne’s latest antics either.
“Roseanne Barr is still calling black women “apes” – Now it’s Barack Obama’s former advisor and friend , Valerie Jarrett. Well done, @ABCNetwork”
And Chelsea Clinton responded as well after Roseanne tweeted misinformation that needed to be corrected.
Roseanne had tweeted: “Chelsea Soros Clinton”
So Chelsea responded:
“Good morning Roseanne – my given middle name is Victoria. I imagine George Soros’s nephews are lovely people. I’m just not married to one. I am grateful for the important work @OpenSociety does in the world. Have a great day!”
One has to wonder what ABC is thinking by allowing such a high profile star to go off the rails like this.
One person on Twitter raised an interesting point about a new possible story line after Barr compared former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape:
“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj”
Someone responded:
“So now that Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) is calling women of color “apes” on Twitter, I guess we can expect a heartwarming moment on the next episode of “Roseanne” where she says the same to her black granddaughter? @ABCNetwork?”
This is ridiculous. Barr is fomenting conspiracy theories and hatred that can cause real harm to people. Our nation is in a time of crisis when we have a leader who is doing what he can to harm people of color, and corporations like ABC must take the lead to show that America will not tolerate this kind of racism.
