Sarah Huckabee Sanders Uses Trump’s Racist Animals Remark To Attack Liberals And Democrats

Sarah Huckabee Sanders did some revisionist history while trying to explain away Trump calling some immigrants animals, and turned his racism into an attack on liberals and Democrats.

Video:

Sanders said when asked about Trump’s “animals” remark, “The president was very clearly referring to MS-13 gang members who enter the country illegally and whose deportations are hamstrung by our laws. This is one of the most vicious and deadly gangs that operates by the motto of rape, control and kill. If the media and liberals want MS-13, they’re more than welcome to. MS-13 has done heinous acts. Too took an animal to stab a man 100 times. It took an animal to beat a woman they were sex trafficking leaving indents on her body. I think the term animal doesn’t go far enough.”

Contrary to the White House’s spin, liberal and Democrats aren’t defending murderous gangs. It would also be nice if the Trump White House would realize that there such a thing as gang members who aren’t African-American or Hispanic. Trump made no effort to limit his animals comments, just like he didn’t when he referred to s-hole countries, or the white supremacist good people in Charlottesville.

There is a recurring pattern with Trump of racism, xenophobia, and immigrant bashing. Never has he shown any moderation or thoughtfulness in his remarks. The American people have seen this script before. Trump lets his racism fly out of his mouth, Sarah Huckabee Sanders steps up to the podium to try to rationalize it and blame liberals and Democrats.

The White House isn’t going to make this go away by blaming liberals and Democrats for Trump’s own words, and the fact that Sarah Huckabee Sanders would even try this is more proof that Trump is using racism to play to his base.
