Trump Supporters Are Crying That They May Go Out Of Business Due To His Immigration Policies

Trump supporters are saying that they were tricked, and they may go out of business because they need the seasonal workers that Trump is deporting or not allowing into the country to survive.

The Lexington Herald-Leader told the story of Trump supporters who are being economically ruined by the man that they voted for:

Eddie Devine voted for President Donald Trump because he thought he would be good for American business. Now, he says, the Trump administration’s restrictions on seasonal foreign labor may put him out of business.

“I feel like the devil has tricked me,” said Devine, owner of Harrodsburg-based Devine Creations Landscaping. “I feel so stupid.”

Cuts in H-2B visas are hurting small businesses across the country that can’t find Americans willing to do hard, manual labor: Maryland crab processors, Texas shrimp fishermen, and Kentucky landscapers and construction companies.

“We live and die by these visas,” said Ken Monin, owner of Monin Construction, which specializes in home additions, roofs, decks, and garages. “Last year we about went bankrupt. The workers we were supposed to get in March didn’t show up until August because they couldn’t get visas.”

Trump supporters did this to themselves

It is difficult to feel sympathy for people when Donald Trump made it clear who he was, and what he was going to do on immigration if he won the presidency. The American economy needs immigrants. There are manual labor jobs that feature low pay and backbreaking work that American workers will not do. Everything from farming to slaughterhouses to landscaping, manufacturing, and construction rely on immigrant labor.

Trump has no plan to help these small businesses that he is destroying on a daily basis, because the Trump presidency has always been about helping Donald Trump and big corporations.

Trump supporters made this choice on their own, and because of their vote, many of them stand to lose their businesses, their jobs, and their healthcare.

If these voters were duped, it is because they weren’t paying attention. All of this was obvious. Hopefully, these voters will be smarter with their vote in 2018 and 2020.
