Trump Is Destroying Himself By Demanding That The White House Never Apologize

It is official Trump White House policies that apologies are a sign of weakness, so no matter what happens, no one in the White House is allowed to apologize, which is why scandals like the mocking of John McCain last for days and weeks.

Axios got this comment from a senior Trump White House official, “Not apologizing is a core operating principle for Trump. The basic belief is that you never actually get ‘credit’ — from the Left, the media, political opponents, etc. — for apologizing, so why do it? Even the Access Hollywood response video included a defiant Trump going after the ‘actions’ of Bill Clinton and ‘bullying of victims’ by Hillary, and ended with ‘See you at the debate!'”

The never apologize strategy is a recipe for political failure because it keeps feeding the stories and scandals that would go away quickly with an apology. It has been five days since a White House staffer mocked dying Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). If an apology would have been issued and the staffer fired, the story would have vanished from the news. By not apologizing, the Trump White House has fed the story and only caused it to grow.

Trump is self-destructing, because the American people require their presidents to at least act humble. Every president has an ego. One has to have a sizable ego to think that they can occupy the Oval Office, but presidents work for the people, and humility is a part of the job that is required.

A president that never apologizes is not going to be president for very long.

Trump’s non-apology mentality is why he is going to be a one-term or less president.
