Maher Says the Trump Administration Is Run Like a Mob Business

When you’re a left-leaning comedian and talk show host you can have a lot of fun with Donald Trump.  And that’s exactly what Bill Maher , host of HBO’s Real Time, has done.

He had one show where he said “Dictator Trump Is Restocking The Swamp And Remaking It Into His Own Deep State.”  In another he called the White House the “Trump Temp Agency.”

One of his monologues discussed “Traitor Trump’s Toxic Trysts” which is self-explanatory.

He also once compared Donald Trump to a drunk parrot.

So it should come as no surprise that in his most recent show he compares Trump to a mob leader and says he’s running the government like a mafia business.

“People call this presidency a ‘reality show.’ It’s more like a Scorsese movie,” Maher said on his Friday show. “Everything Trump does is modeled on the mob.”

“Who does Trump surround himself with? Disposable lawyers and idiot members of his own family. Who’s his worst enemy? The FBI,” Maher added. “He’s so much like a Don, his name is literally Don.”

“Here’s my theory – you didn’t like that the country had been taken over by liberals and feminists and elites, whatever. So you were feeling vulnerable and disrespected, so you brought in some muscle from the east coast for protection and now you’re married to the mob,” Maher said.

Maher also commented that the president is using the White House as a “legitimate front business” to financially benefit his family.

And talking about Trump supporters who have been unhappy with the scandals surrounding the White House, Maher said “this is what you get when you get in bed with the mob.”

A clip of the show can also be seen at Maher’s twitter page.

Once again Bill Maher has shown that he is both funny and very insightful when it comes to political commentary.  In this case the truth of the situation is probably more scary than funny, since there have been many reports about Trump’s and Michael Cohen’s real-life mob connections.  We certainly hope that Robert Mueller will bring out the truth and this will lead to justice and the prosecution of criminal behavior.  In the meantime, though, we’ll have to be content with just laughing about a situation that is too ridiculous to believe.
