‘We’ve Only Scratched The Surface’: Michael Avenatti Tells Cohen That More Evidence Is Coming

Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti has been on a crusade to expose the corruption of Michael Cohen and Donald Trump for months now, but he suggested on Thursday that he’s just getting started.

In an interview with Chris Matthews, Avenatti said the financial documents he revealed this week were only the beginning.

“We’ve only scratched the surface,” he said.

The Stormy Daniels attorney told Cohen that he can either release his financial documents and prove his innocence, or he can be ready for more evidence to come out in the near future.

Avenatti said:

Let me just say this, we haven’t done anything wrong in this case. We welcome the investigation by the Treasury Department. We’re confident we’re going to be cleared. The bottom line is, the American people deserve to have this information. The remaining bank documents should be turned over by Michael Cohen. If he doesn’t have anything to hide, he ought to just release the 14 or 15 months’ worth of bank statements tonight and let’s get to the bottom of this and be done with it. They’re not going to do that, Chris, because we’ve only scratched the surface. This whole thing stinks.

Michael Avenatti isn’t messing around

While politicians and lawyers often make empty threats as part of their political or legal strategies, Michael Avenatti has shown that he always backs his up.

This week’s bombshell news  that a Russian oligarch funneled $500,000 into the same Cohen account that paid off Stormy Daniels is proof that when Avenatti says he has the goods, he probably does.

The revelations also draw a clear connection between two major Trump scandals – the Stormy Daniels payoff and the Russian collusion investigation –that were initially believed to be separate matters.

The dark cloud of scandal hovering over this administration since day one is now quickly building into a perfect storm that has the potential to take down this presidency.

And front and center in all of it is Michael Avenatti, the attorney for an adult film actress, who is proving to be a bigger nightmare for Donald Trump and Michael Cohen than anybody expected.
