Sarah Huckabee Sanders Just Unbelievably Exposed Trump’s Break With Reality

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Tuesday during the White House briefing that President Trump “certainly believes he has the power” to fire Robert Mueller.

Watch here:

This is not the first time these words have been spoken by a member of Trump’s inner circle. Trump’s friend Chris Ruddy told Judy Woodruff on PBS NewsHour, “I think (the President is) considering perhaps terminating the special counsel. I think he’s weighing that option.”

Not only do most legal experts concur that the special counsel regulation is constitutional , but the consensus is that Trump must follow its protocol.

These words were not a casual misunderstanding. Republican lawmakers keep pretending Trump isn’t this stupid, but of course he is exactly this stupid and they are exactly this enabling of Trump’s abuses of power and failure to protect our country.

If Trump and his circle were innocent, he would not be claiming the power to fire the person leading an investigation into him. But also, the New York investigation that resulted in the raid is separate from Mueller. Just how many people – Republicans, no less – will Trump have to destroy in order to protect his entitlement to abuse his power and the law.

Certainly no Republican lawmaker will actually stand up to him. It would be quite a shock at this point to see more than a few Republicans take a stand for the rule of law and to protect their country.

Donald Trump can believe he has the power to fire Mueller just like he believes millions of “illegals” voted on election day and just like he believes thousands of Muslims cheered in New Jersey on 9/11, but neither of those things actually happened.

And this is the biggest problem with Donald Trump. He doesn’t even have a casual relationship with reality. They are at best hostile strangers.
