The FBI Now Has Documents That Could Bring The Stormy Daniels Payoff Crashing Down On Trump

Today’s big bombshell is that Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen was raided in several different locations after special counsel Robert Mueller tipped off the FBI.

A new report details what Cohen is under investigation for, and it should have Trump shaking in his boots.

According to The Washington Post, Cohen is now being scrutinized by the FBI for possible campaign finance violations and bank fraud.

FBI agents on Monday raided the Manhattan office of President Trump’s private lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, seizing records about Cohen’s clients, including those related to a 2016 payment he made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump.

Among the documents seized were privileged communications between Cohen and his clients — including those with Trump, according to a person familiar with the investigators’ work. Investigators took Cohen’s computer, phone and personal financial records as part of the search of his office at Rockefeller Center, the person said.

Why Trump should be worried

The key to today’s explosive developments is that the FBI seized documents containing “privileged communications” between the president and Cohen.

As Sarah Jones pointed out a short time ago, that client-attorney privilege no longer exists when the communications involve illegal activity. The fact that the FBI seized these documents means they must believe a crime has been committed.

Even worse for Trump is that the documents showing communications between him and Cohen could contain conversations regarding the $130,000 Stormy Daniels payoff, which transpired at the tail end of the 2016 campaign.

Trump recently claimed to know nothing about the payment, which Cohen says he made from his personal account without Trump’s knowledge. But now, with the FBI seizing communications between the president and Michael Cohen, it could show that Trump did, in fact, know about the hush money – bringing the entire porn star scandal crashing down him.

Donald Trump is under fire from many different angles now – Russia, obstruction of justice, Stormy Daniels, etc. – that it’s hard to imagine that he doesn’t get nailed for at least one of them.
