With No Evidence, Sarah Sanders Says Austin Bombings Aren’t Terrorism

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders claimed that the Austin bombings aren’t connected to terrorism, but she offered no evidence to support this claim.

Sanders tweeted:

Sanders’ statement appears to contradict what investigators on the ground are saying, as law enforcement would only say that they are investigating the bombings and seem to have ruled nothing out.

The White House Press Secretary doesn’t have access to potentially classified information, and it is unlikely that she has any firsthand knowledge of the investigation. Sanders offered no facts to support her claim that the bombings aren’t connected to terrorism.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders claimed that these bombings aren’t linked to terrorism for one reason. She is trying to protect Trump, who has said nothing about what is happening in Austin.

To Trump and his White House, there is no such thing as domestic terrorism. Trump only calls an act terrorism if it involves a person that he believes to be non-white or a Muslim. These bombings are at minimum an act of domestic terrorism. They may also be a hate crime.

Sanders has followed the lead of Trump and claimed something to disguise their uncaring incompetence.

Statements about any connections to terrorism should be coming from the people who are doing the investigation, not the White House Press Secretary who pathologically lies on a daily basis to protect her failing boss.
