Stormy Daniels’ Attorney Tells Trump He’ll Be His Worst Nightmare If He Threatens His Client

The attorney for adult film star Stormy Daniels issued a strong warning to Donald Trump and his legal team on Saturday, saying if his client is threatened, he will become their worst nightmare.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid, Michael Avenatti cited the previous bullying tactic Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen has used in previous cases and said they will not work this time.

“If he conducts himself in that manner in this case, he’s going to get his ticket stamped,” Avenatti said. “He’s not dealing with some two-bit lawyer from down the street.”

Avenatti said:

I want to go back to something that was said relating to Mr. Cohen and some of the threats and tactics that he’s used in litigation. That has no place in any case in the United States. I don’t care how big or how small – no attorney should ever conduct themselves in that manner. And if he conducts himself in that manner in this case, he’s going to get his ticket stamped because he’s not dealing with some two-bit lawyer from down the street. We’re going be as aggressive as we possibly can, but we’re going to be smart. But we’re not going to tolerate any nonsense with threats and bullying tactics. They will go nowhere with me and my client. And if they think that they will, they haven’t been paying attention the last few weeks.

Avenatti’s tough warning to Trump’s legal team comes after he told ‘Morning Joe’ on Friday that Stormy Daniels was “physically threatened” when she attempted to go public with her story before the 2016 election.

Cohen claims to have paid Daniels $130,000 in October 2016 to keep her quiet about her 2006 affair with Trump, and the White House maintains that Trump had no idea about the transaction. Daniels is now claiming that the agreement is “invalid” because the president himself didn’t sign it.

If past is indicative of future events, Trump’s lawyer will likely use intimidation tactics to prevent this from getting out of hand even further than it already has. Luckily, Avenatti’s clearly not playing games with the president and his team.

With the highly anticipated ’60 Minutes’ interview of Stormy Daniels scheduled for March 25, this controversy – which is quickly threatening to be politically deadly for the White House – is not going away anytime soon.
