As former FBI director James Comey did, Andrew McMaster, the newly-fired deputy FBI director, kept memos on interactions with President Trump and the circumstances around Comey’s dismissal.
The news comes from an anonymous source with “direct knowledge of the situation who wasn’t authorized to discuss the memos publicly,” according to the AP.
The memos are said to be of similar nature to the ones kept by Comey.
JUST IN: Lordy, there are memos. McCabe kept contemporaneous memos of conversations with the President & events surrounding Comey firing.

The power to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the investigation into whether Trump colluded with Russia to swing the 2016 election in his favor, still lies with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Trump and his lawyer, though, are already pressuring him to end the probe.
“I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier,” said John Dowd, Trump’s attorney, after news of McCabe’s termination broke.
As the investigation heats up, it’s clear that Trump’s camp is getting increasingly frantic and panicking about how to get out of it.
