Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti was on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ today with information about the adult actress and, not only her alleged sexual relationship with President Donald Trump, but also information about what he called “the cover up.”
According to Avenatti, his client was threatened during the negotiations between Ms. Daniels and Mr. Trump that led to Trump paying her $130,000 in exchange for her promises to remain silent about her affair with Trump. The negotiations took place approximately two weeks before the November 2016 presidential election in which Trump was elected President of the United States.
During the interview Mr. Avenatti would not elaborate on who made the threats, the nature of the threats against his client, or if they include threats against her life and/or her physical safety. He told the ‘Morning Joe’ viewers that they would have to watch his client’s interview on the TV show ‘60 Minutes’ to get answers to all of these questions.
The indication that there could have been serious threats against Ms. Daniels which were made in order to coerce her to sign the nondisclosure agreement (NDA) is new information and potentially the most serious allegation yet made against the president and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen.
Here is the exchange that took place between Avenatti and ‘Morning Joe’ co-host Mika Brzezinski:
Mika: “Was she threatened in any way?”
Avenatti: “Yes.”
Mika: “Was she threatened with physical harm?”
Avenatti: “Yes.”
Joe Scarborough: “Oh, wow.”
After these statements Mr. Avenatti refused to offer any more details despite persistent questioning from the panel.
One of the panelists, Joyce White Vance, a former prosecutor and United States Attorney had this to say:
“It could not have been any clearer. She was threatened. That story will have to come out. . . . It could easily be his downfall.”
Once Daniels tells the entire story, after the ‘60 Minutes’ interview is broadcast, and after her lawyer provides indisputable evidence to support her claims, there will be information ‘out there’ in the public domain that might bring down the Trump presidency.
