Students across the country took to the streets on Wednesday to demand tighter gun control laws.
Dubbed theĀ #ENOUGH National School Walkout, it was organized by survivors of the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida last month. In honor of the 17 people who lost their lives in that tragedy, the walkouts were set to last for 17 minutes in each time zone at 10am.
The first demonstrations got started in New York City, with hundreds of students carrying signs and wearing color of the gun control movement, orange.
Over 2,800 schools are expected to take part in the walkout.
Following the shooting in Parkland, Trump initially appeared ready to make at least some small progress on gun control, but he has unsurprisingly abandoned the cause in order to please the NRA.
