Republicans are so incompetent when it comes to running the federal government that they have caused the second shutdown in three weeks because they can’t get their act together.

The reason for the shutdown is Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) pulling one his semi-annual publicity stunts. This time Sen. Paul is blocking a two-year budget deal because it is too expensive.
Paul said on the Senate floor, “I can’t, in all good honesty, in all good faith, just look the other way because my party is now complicit in the deficits. But really who’s to blame? Both parties. We have a 700-page bill that no one has read that was printed at midnight. No one will read this bill, nothing will be reformed, the waste will continue, and government will keep taking your money irresponsibly and adding to a $20 trillion debt.”
Ironically, Sen. Paul expressed no worries about the deficit when he voted to add $1 trillion to it through tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations:
I voted for tax cuts last week and I look forward to voting for the final bill next week. Tax cuts are you keeping your money.

The Republicans have once again derailed the country, as they will work through the night to try to slap together a funding bill before government employees wake up for work, all because a hypocritical Senator wants to pretend like he cares about the deficit.
Republicans have proven that they only know one way to govern, and that’s poorly.
