Trump’s ‘Fire And Fury’ Problem Gets Worse As 57% Don’t Think He Is Fit To Serve

Donald Trump is hoping the American people dismiss Michael Wolff’s book ‘Fire and Fury’ as fiction, but the vast majority of the country seems to agree with the author’s well-sourced claims that paint the president as an unfit, unstable man.

According to a new Quinnipiac University poll, 57 percent of Americans believe Trump is not fit to serve as commander-in-chief and 69 percent say he isn’t level-headed – a devastating set of numbers for the president and his Republican friends in Congress ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

President Donald Trump is intelligent, American voters say 53 – 44 percent, one of his lowest scores since Inauguration day, but voters say 69 – 28 percent that he is not level-headed and 57 – 40 percent that he is not fit to serve as president, according to a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today.

Grading President Trump’s first year in office, 39 percent of voters give him an “F,” while 17 percent give him a “D.” Trump gets an “A” from 16 percent of voters, a “B” from another 16 percent and a “C” from 11 percent of voters, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh- pe-ack) University Poll finds.

Overall, the president’s approval rating stands at a dismal 36 percent, with a whopping 59 percent of voters saying he’s done a poor job. From there, the poll results don’t get much better for the White House.

More key findings:

63 – 34 percent that he is not honest;
59 – 39 percent that he does not have good leadership skills;
59 – 38 percent, that he does not care about average Americans;
65 – 32 percent that he does not share their values.

In the one area that Trump and his supporters say he deserves credit – the economy – most Americans are saying, “Not so fast.” According to Quinnipiac, a plurality – 49 percent – say that it’s Barack Obama, not Trump, who deserves credit for the strength of the economy. Just 40 percent say the current president is driving economic growth.

Overall, the president’s job approval is still stuck in the 30s, according to the RealClearPolitics average – and the past week isn’t likely to improve those numbers.

In fact, the latest polling seems to confirm that it’s not Michael Wolff’s best-selling book the American people have dismissed – it’s Donald Trump.
