What you see on TV isn’t necessarily true as aides who praise Trump publicly can’t stand him, as more than a half a dozen members of his administration are looking for the exits before the Russia shoe drops.
Axios confirmed some of the reporting in Michael Wolff’s book Fire and Fury, “Wolff captures the contempt some Trump aides have for the president and his family. Axios’ Jonathan Swan notes that this includes people you see trumpeting their loyalty to him…More than half a dozen of the more skilled White House staff are contemplating imminent departures. Many leaving are quite fearful about the next chapter of the Trump presidency.”
The price of working in this White House is to live in a fantasy world where constant public praise of Donald Trump is required. The people who appear to be glorifying their leader on television are playing to an audience of one man, and just like many of the talking heads who show up on Fox News, they don’t really believe what they are saying.
Just like Fox, Trump has created a bubble around himself. Trump doesn’t let facts or information in. The Trump administration runs on and is fueled by satisfying the ego of the president. When the priority is making the president happy, it is impossible for an administration to govern. The White House is in constant chaos because the institution of the presidency has been transformed into a vanity mirror for Donald Trump.
People are plotting their exits because those on the inside understand that the worst is yet to come.
