Trump and Congressional Republicans gathered at the White House to applaud loudly the fact that 13 million Americans will be losing their health insurance due to the repeal of the individual mandate.
Video:
Trump to move the goalpost on Obamacare repeal by saying, “I hate to say this, but we essentially repealed Obamacare because we got rid of the individual mandate which was terrible. And that was a primary source of funding for Obamacare.”
Obamacare is not a thng. The Affordable Care Act is a law, and it can’t be repealed by taking away the individual mandate.
The Republican celebration of 13 million Americans losing their healthcare says a lot about who the Republican Party is and what they value. 13 million people are going to lose their health insurance coverage and Republicans are cheering. The reality is that Obamacare is more popular than Republicans in Congress and Trump, so when Trump and his friends gathered in the Rose Garden, they weren’t celebrating a victory. They were sowing the seeds for their own demise.
Celebrate now Republicans, because those 13 million people who are losing their health insurance, their friends, and families are going to remember this day when they vote in 2018.
