Joe Biden Drops His Biggest Hint Yet That He Is Running For President 2020

Last updated on July 18th, 2023 at 11:24 am

During an interview on The View, former Vice President Biden laid out a series of easily met conditions a potential presidential campaign in 2020.

Video:

Biden said, “If I were offered the nomination by the Lord Almighty today right now, I would say no because we’re not ready. The family’s not ready enough to do this. If in a year from now, if we’re ready, and no one has moved in that I think can do, then I may very well do it, but I’m being as honest as I can.”

The former Vice President’s answer was not one that someone gives if they aren’t running. When former First Lady Obama is asked about running, she always answers with an emphatic no. When the question is posed to Hillary Clinton, she answers with some version of my public life is over.

Joe Biden isn’t sounding like a guy who is closing the door on public life. Interestingly, by putting a date on it of next year, Biden also moved up the timetable for other potential Democratic candidates. The Democratic field in 2020 is going to be crowded. It would be a surprise to see the race start off with 20 or more declared candidates.

The Alabama Senate election demonstrated that the Obama coalition is as powerful as ever, and if Joe Biden runs for the Democratic nomination, they will be behind him. Trump is obsessed with Elizabeth Warren, but the person with the most immediate capability of turning him into a one-term president is Joe Biden.
