Senate Republicans Can’t Put Handwritten Tax Cut Amendment Into The Record Because No One Can Read It

A handwritten amendment to the Republican tax cut bill was unable to be put into the record because no one on the Senate floor could read it.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) tweeted:

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) tweeted a page of the bill that is being edited on the fly in pen on the Senate floor:

That’s one way to keep the American people in the dark. Make the bill illegible and fill it with strange pen markings on the pages.

The United States was once the example for all aspiring democracies in the world, but in less than a year, Trump and the Republicans have reduced the American system of governance to rubble.
