Roy Moore Implodes After The Washington Post Busts Him For Lying About His Accuser

Clearly encouraged by fellow sexual assaulter Donald Trump’s endorsement this week, Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore lashed out at the media on Wednesday, calling The Washington Post a “worthless piece of crap.”

The meltdown came after the Post asked Moore’s campaign to back up their latest ridiculous claim: that Leigh Corfman – the 14-year-old girl that Moore preyed upon in 1979 – didn’t live where she said she did at the time.

“According to records the media has not bothered to look at, we’ve been able to find that Corfman’s supposed pickup place was almost a mile away from her mother’s house and would have been across a major thoroughfare,” said Moore aide Ben DuPré, according to the newspaper. “This is yet another improbable fact in Leigh Corfman’s own words and story that the media has not bothered to investigate.”

Despite the Moore campaign’s assertion, Corfman and her mother say they did, in fact, live just around the corner from where Moore had picked her up – not at another address further away. As the Post notes, a property theft record reported in 1980 also confirms this.

When the Washington Post pointed this out and asked Moore’s campaign multiple times to provide their supposed proof that Corfman lived at another address, they refused to provide it. Instead, they lashed out and said they’re cutting off all communications with the newspaper.

“The Washington Post is a worthless piece of crap that has gone out of its way to railroad Roy Moore,” Moore strategist Brett Doster said in an email to the Post. “There is no need for anyone at the Washington Post to ever reach out to the Roy Moore campaign again because we will not respond to anyone from the Post now or in the future. Happy Thanksgiving.”

On its face, Moore campaign’s statement is laughable and childish. It’s also an admission from the Republican’s campaign that they can’t back up their new smear job on Leigh Corfman.

Moore’s strategy appears to be to continue spewing nonsense, hoping that enough blindfolded GOP voters in Alabama will ignore the big bad media and his growing list of accusers, and give him a spot in the United States Senate.

This worked for Donald Trump in 2016. Roy Moore is hoping the same disgusting playbook will help him defeat Democratic candidate Doug Jones next month.
