Donald Trump can’t even pardon a turkey without insecurely mentioning former president Barack Obama.

Transcript as provided to PoliticusUSA by the White House:
Upon being pardoned, Drumstick and his friend, Wishbone, will live out their days at “Gobbler’s Rest” — beautiful place. It’s custom-built; it’s an enclosure on the campus of Virginia Tech. Tremendous school. There, they’ll join Tater and Tot, the two turkeys pardoned last year by President Obama.
As many of you know, I have been very active in overturning a number of executive actions by my predecessor. However, I have been informed by the White House Counsel’s Office that Tater and Tot’s pardons cannot, under any circumstances, be revoked. So we’re not going to revoke them. So, Tater and Tot, you can rest easy.
Trump’s comments were revealing because they provided insight into his view of presidential power. Trump doesn’t view the presidency as a chance to leave a mark on the history of the country by doing great things and moving America forward. For Donald Trump, the presidency is all about destroying Barack Obama’s legacy as president. Trump isn’t wired to do constructive and positive things.
Donald Trump is one of the worst presidents in history because he has no agenda, no ideas, and no direction. Trump just wants to wipe out the progress of the Obama years. The President is so insecure and devoid of intellectual capacity that he can only attempt to tear down Obama’s legacy.
Trump will forever be the mistake that followed Obama, and the fact that he will never measure up to the former president is driving him nuts.
