Ohio Supreme Court Justice Shouldn’t Be Anywhere Near The Bench After Minimizing Sexual Assault

Here comes Bill O’Neill. He’s an Ohio Supreme Court justice who announced in October that he is running for the Democratic nomination in the Ohio’s governor’s race.

He speaks for all heterosexual men and is “sooooo disappointed by this national feeding frenzy about sexual indiscretions decades ago.”

He has had sex with “approximately 50 very attractive females”, the last of whom he helpfully described by hair color (after he redacted the names, cuz that was totally cool), so don’t waste your time trying to dig up sexual dirt on him!

Judge (does this not both frighten you and explain a lot) O’Neill shared on Facebook Friday:

Now that the dogs of war are calling for the head of Senator Al Franken I believe it is time to speak up on behalf of all heterosexual males. As a candidate for Governor let me save my opponents some research time. In the last fifty years I was sexually intimate with approximately 50 very attractive females. It ranged from a gorgeous blonde who was my first true love and we made passionate love in the hayloft of her parents barn and ended with a drop dead gorgeous red head from Cleveland.

Now can we get back to discussing legalizing marijuana and opening the state hospital network to combat the opioid crisis. I am sooooo disappointed by this national feeding frenzy about sexual indiscretions decades ago.

Peace.

Sexual assault and harassment are not “sexual indiscretions.” Anyone who still thinks this is not listening.

Sexual harassment and assault are brutal power trips that leave the victim fearing for their jobs and sometimes their safety. It has nothing to do with sex. Grabbing a 14-year-old girl’s hand is not a “sexual indiscretion” and grabbing random women by the “p*ssy” as our president brags he does is not a “sexual indiscretion”- it’s an aggressive act of violence, backed up by a huge power disparity.

O’Neill thinks the opioid crisis and legalizing marijuana are more important than finally allowing women to share their accounts of sexual assault and harassment. In fact, so important that there is, apparently, no room for violence against women to be discussed. O’Neill is unable to address more than these two problems at the same time as others, apparently, and only he can choose for the rest of us.

He signed this “Peace” – as only a white man who doesn’t know the first thing about sexual assault really could, after minimizing and mocking the issue.

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) does not need O’Neil’s alleged sexual exploits to rescue him from the evil women distracting from legalizing marijuana by existing and then speaking about assaults to their bodies. Franken handled himself as best as a person can under the circumstances, and frankly was – along with Republican former President George H.W. Bush, a role model in how to handle it the right way.

Judge Bill O’Neill is so fresh with his reaction to the brave women sharing their experiences with sexual assault and harassment. He’s basically: ‘Hush, ladies! The men are talking about important topics!’

This man is a Judge. He’s not silencing his own victims, he’s busy silencing other men’s victims and minimizing assault into a sexual “indiscretion”, which is only steps away from Donald Trump’s “locker room talk.”

Some help for the dinosaur in the room: A sexual indiscretion is a choice made by two people. It has nothing to do with sexual assault and harassment, unless one believes women do not own their bodies and are just here to have their p*ssies grabbed whenever some man feels like it.

To put this in terms O’Neill might understand, this is like telling the victim of a violent armed assault that they should stop complaining about the rough and tumble fun of consensual touch football. Yes, really. Not related.

If Judge O’Neill does not know the difference, he should not be anywhere near the bench.
