The fact Special Counsel Robert Mueller has enough evidence to charge Mike Flynn strengthens the obstruction of justice case against Donald Trump.
NBC News reported, “Federal investigators have gathered enough evidence to bring charges in their investigation of President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser and his son as part of the probe into Russia’s intervention in the 2016 election, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation. Michael T. Flynn, who was fired after just 24 days on the job, was one of the first Trump associates to come under scrutiny in the federal probe now led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into possible collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign.”
The White House sent Trump to Asia to change the subject away from Russia, but the likely Mike Flynn charges mean that news is still going to be focused on Russia. The Flynn charges will be more significant to the Russia big picture because it will be the first time that a Trump administration official is charged in connection with the Russia scandal.
Mike Flynn is also at the heart of the obstruction of justice investigation into Trump. The President was trying to get James Comey to end the investigation into Flynn. Mike Flynn is part of the reason why Trump obstructed justice and fired Comey.
The heat is only going to get more intense on Trump. The White House can’t hide Trump overseas. The President is going to return to a Russia scandal that is boiling over. When the charges are filed against Mike Flynn, it will be a big step toward ending the presidency of Donald Trump.
