Bill O’Reilly Tries to Intimidate CBS’s Norah O’Donnell Into Shutting Up About Sexual Harassment

In case you were wondering who the biggest creep is, Bill O’Reilly popped up again to remind you that the President and Harvey Weinstein don’t own that title.

O’Reilly showed the world the face women see when they bring up sexual harassment when he tried to intimidate Norah O’Donnell when she asked him about it.

When Norah O’Donnell asked Bill O’Reilly about sexual harassment Monday on CBS This Morning, the former Fox host sneered aggressively, “I’m not that interested in this!”

Watch here:

“I’m not that interested in this!” Bill O’Reilly said in response to being asked about what Megyn Kelly said about him in her book.

“You’re not interested in sexual harassment?” Norah O’Donnell asked, leaving unsaid that this issue is what cost O’Reilly his job.

“I’m not that interested in basically litigating something that is finished, that makes my network look bad, okay?” the former Fox host sneered, leaning forward aggressively toward the female host.

“At all. That doesn’t interest me.” O’Reilly spewed, his rage palpable. “One bit!”

“Is that what she’s doing?” O’Donnell asked, undaunted by O’Reilly’s attempt to silence her.

“I don’t know,” O’Reilly conceded, while pivoting with the contemptuous dismissal of the issue that is familiar to women around the world, “But I’m not going to even bother with it.”

That’s a “no” to discussing the issue, and a pretty desperate attempt to intimate the woman asking him about it. But like so much of what O’Reilly does lately, it too failed.

The New York Times reported a mere days ago that O’Reilly reportedly settled a $32 million deal with Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl over allegation of a nonconsensual sexual relationship six months after Roger Ailes was ousted amid rampant sexual harassment accusations, and following this settlement, his contract was renewed. O’Reilly claims Wiehl signed an affidavit renouncing all allegations against him (this is often done as part of a settlement).

“It was at least the sixth agreement — and by far the largest — made by either Mr. O’Reilly or the company to settle harassment allegations against him. Despite that record, 21st Century Fox began contract negotiations with Mr. O’Reilly, and in February granted him a four-year extension that paid $25 million a year,” the NYT reported.

As Jake Tapper pointed out when O’Reilly tried to claim his ratings were “low”:

Bill O’Reilly’s sneering, angry face on CBS This Morning is the face women around the world face when they try to report sexual harassment and assault at work.

The contempt, the rage, the dismissal, the arrogance, the attitude that the issue is beneath the person and that the woman is only bringing it up to try to make her employer look bad — these are not accidents. This is what it looks like when you try to take on the old boys’ club, people with too much power and no sense of accountability.

O’Reilly tried his stint on O’Donnell, but it looked like she knew exactly what he was trying to do. He was doing what predators do – silence any talk of their actions, especially the voices of their victims.
