Impulsive Trump Is Begging To Be Impeached With Racist Rant Against Puerto Ricans

After being embarrassed and shamed for his deliberately lagging response to help Puerto Rico, President Trump let his racist flag fly high, attacking Puerto Ricans as people who are lazy and “want everything to be done for them.”

After the Mayor of said they are close to genocide if help doesn’t come soon, Trump’s reaction was to blame them, “..Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. …want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort.”

Jason Easley pointed out the reason Trump is being attacked earlier this morning, “After rushing aid to red states Texas and Florida, Trump has intentionally dragged his feet on providing disaster aid to Puerto Rico. The reason is obvious. Puerto Rico is 99% Hispanic.”

This is two days after Trump went on a racist rant saying that peacefully protesting black NFL players “scare” people. So, check for the “scary black man” stereotype and check for “lazy” brown people wanting government handouts stereotype.

Trump’s base buys his pathetic excuses of blaming minorities for his failings, but the rest of the world sees right through him.

People, this is what an overt racist, not even trying to hide it, sounds like. This isn’t hard.

Because Trump is the President, he needs to be called out on his damaging, destructive, democracy-undermining racism. The founding ideal of our country is that everyone is equal and can raise themselves up by hard work. What was the privileged Trump doing while accusing Puerto Ricans who are dying of not working enough?

Trump left Friday afternoon for his golf course in New Jersey and is raising money for himself by attacking the press.
Maria was the most powerful storm to hit Puerto Rico in nearly 90 years, it killed at least 16 people on the island and more than 30 across the Caribbean. Trump called his own results “But it’s been incredible. The results that we’ve had with respect to loss of life. People can’t believe how successful that has been, relatively speaking.”

When Trump fails due to ignoring a problem because of his own racism, he then points his fingers at the victims of his racism and accuses them of deserving it for not working hard enough, which, to be fair, is a topic on which this President is an expert.

Accusing Trump of being a racist brings me no joy. On the contrary, it terrifies me that our President is such an overt racist. I call it out because racism does matter, as you can see from Trump’s actions.

Racism is not an “opinion” that we need to “respect”; it’s an attitude that gets people killed.

Whether it’s by bad apples in our own police forces or President Trump’s wilful delay in lifting the Jones Act for Puerto Ricans aid, racism kills. It is a poison in our country that should never be elevated and turned into a policy, which is what Trump is doing.

There is no greater high crime than violating the oath of office by willfully failing to protect US citizens on the basis of race. While many are rightly focused on the Russia scandal, this president has intentionally enabled a humanitarian crisis on the soil of an American territory.

If that isn’t a high crime against the United States of America, I don’t know what is.
