The Governor whom President Trump praised as a 2018 senatorial candidate didn’t answer the special cell phone number he gave to healthcare officials to use if they had any problems. The Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills in Hollywood nursing home called Florida Governor Rick Scott’s cell three times asking for help 36 hours before the first tragic death.
Investigative reporter CBS4 News in Miami Jim DeFede reported:
“I am going to work to aggressively demand answers on how this tragic event took place,” Governor Rick Scott said in a statement. “This situation is unfathomable. Every facility that is charged with caring for patients must take every action and precaution to keep their patients safe.”
Police opened a criminal investigation at the nursing home in Broward County, Florida after three elderly residents were found dead at the facility and three later died at a nearby hospital, officials told Reuters.
