Republicans in Congress are so angry about Trump negotiating with Democrats on DACA and immigration that they are dodging questions from reporters and avoiding the entire subject.
Here was an exchange between Trump ally Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and NBC’s Garrett Haake:
Meanwhile, Paul Ryan is flipping out and claiming that there is no deal between Trump and the Democrats. While all of this is going on, Trump is claiming that Ryan and McConnell are on board with passing legislation to protect the Dreamers.
For the second time in less than two weeks, it looks like Republicans are fuming because they were blindsided again by Democratic House Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA) and Senate Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (NY). When strong Trump allies like Nunes, he was on the transition team, are avoiding questions about DACA, it’s a disaster for the Republicans in Congress.
Republicans are not doing a good job of hiding their anger at Trump, as some in the House are fearing that a vote on DACA would jeopardize their seats next year. Trump is fracturing the Republicans in Congress.
Each deal with Democrats adds to the GOP anger in Congress towards their own president, as the Republican Party is heading for a meltdown.
