Bannon Pushed Out Because Trump Doesn’t Like Others Stealing the Limelight: WH Source

A White House source told CNN that one of the big reasons why Bannon was essentially “pushed out” is President Trump doesn’t like other people inside the White House stealing the limelight.

“It is believed that Steve Bannon resigned but it is also believed that he may have been given the option to resign… He was essentially forced out of his position as Chief Strategist at the White House. And one of the big reasons why, and we’ve heard this time and time again from people close to the President, is the President doesn’t like other people inside the White House stealing the limelight.”

CNN’s Jim Acosta pointed out that it’s thought that Bannon was pushed out because he was getting too much attention and President Trump doesn’t like anyone inside the White House stealing the limelight.

Bannon was recently on the cover of Time and lampooned on Saturday Night Live, as well as having done high profile interviews over the last week.

“There were times this just got under the President’s skin,” Acosta reported.

People inside the White House were “rankled” by Bannon saying he did the interviews to distract from Trump’s disastrous press conference. Others felt Bannon was not a team player, according to Acosta, and John Kelly’s new power structure wasn’t having that.

Acosta noted Bannon’s position at Breitbart and the concern inside the White House about the potential fallout, “There’s a concern inside the White House that now that Bannon is on the outside, what is going to be the reaction.”

Acosta ended saying there is a belief that Bannon resigned but also a belief that Bannon was “given that option, so essentially he was pushed out.”

Trump got rid of Bannon not because Bannon’s beliefs are problematic, but because Bannon was getting too much attention and Bannon was not a team player.
