FBI Raids Former Trump Campaign Manager’s Office And Seizes Docs And Records Related To Russia

The FBI’s raid of Paul Manafort’s office means that they have evidence of criminal wrong doing by Trump’s former campaign manager during the 2016 election.

The Washington Post reported, “FBI agents raided the Alexandria home of President Trump’s former campaign chairman late last month, using a search warrant to seize documents and other materials, according to people familiar with the special counsel investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Federal agents appeared at Paul Manafort’s home without advance warning in the predawn hours of July 26, the day after he met voluntarily with the staff for the Senate Intelligence Committee. The search warrant was wide-ranging and FBI agents working with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III departed the home with various records.”

Interestingly, this raid happened when Trump was in the midst of tantrum at Attorney General Jeff Sessions for not protecting him from the Russia investigation. The FBI had a warrant, which means that a judge deemed that there was sufficient evidence to approve the raid.

It is important to note that because Manafort is under investigation for his own business dealings, many people have put him into a separate category on the Russia scandal. However, Manafort could have easily served as a key connection between Putin and Trump, and if the Russians were somehow funneling money or resources into the Trump campaign, Manafort, as campaign manager, would have been in the middle of it.

The FBI is conducting criminal raids of former members of the Trump campaign in relation to the Russia investigation. The current president’s former presidential campaign has central figures being raided by the FBI.

Trump and the Russians have the potential to the biggest political scandal in American history.
