The Truth Comes Out As Trump’s Voter Fraud Commission Is Really About Rigging The 2020 Election

Emails show that the real purpose of Trump’s “election integrity” commission is to gather voter data and pass a new federal law that will make it more difficult for people to vote in 2020.

The Washington Post reported:

The day after Donald Trump was elected president, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, now the vice-chair of Donald Trump’s commission on voter fraud, told Trump’s transition team of a proposal to change federal law to allow stricter requirements on voter registration.

Kobach’s team was “putting together information on legislation drafts for submission to Congress early in the administration,” Kobach wrote to transition team member Gene Hamilton in an email. “I have some already started regarding amendments to the NVRA [National Voter Registration Act] to make clear that proof of citizenship requirements are permitted (based on my ongoing litigation with the ACLU over this).”

The reason why the commission wants sensitive personal voter data such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and voting history is because they are trying to create a profile of likely Democratic voters that they can use to craft federal legislation that will make it more difficult for those people to vote in the next presidential election. Judging from both the desired Republican legislative calendar and the pace of Trump’s commission, it appears that the 2020 election is the target for any new Trump voter suppression law.

Trump is trying to rig the 2020 election and all future elections by reshaping the electorate to favor the older white conservatives that are Trump’s base of support. These efforts have hit a brick wall thanks to both the ACLU lawsuit and the refusal of states to turn over their voter data.

Donald Trump is the most unpopular president in the history of public opinion polling at this point in his presidency. Trump would probably lose a straight up election that contained no Russian interference or voter suppression. Trump is trying to rig his reelection so that that voice of the people won’t matter. The American people must stand together to support the groups that are suing to protect voting rights, and to make sure that states never turn over their voter data.

Trump has launched a full assault on democracy from the Oval Office.
