The GOP Healthcare Bill Is So Bad That Senate Republicans Won’t Make Themselves Buy It

The latest version of Trumpcare contains an exemption for Senate Republicans so that they will have more benefits and better care than every other American.

Vox reported, “Senate Republicans included a provision that exempts members of Congress and their staff from part of their latest health care plan. This exemption could have the effect of ensuring that members of Congress have coverage for a wider array of benefits than other Americans who purchase their own coverage. A Senate Republican aide confirmed that the exemption existed but was unable to comment as to the specific effect it would have. The aide said it was included to ensure that the bill hewed to the chamber’s strict reconciliation rules that limit the policies this health bill can include.”

Senate Republicans who support this bill will be voting to take away health care from 22 million people and weakening coverage for everyone else, except themselves. If Trumpcare is great why won’t Senate Republicans have to buy their health insurance in the same way as everyone else? If Trumpcare is a better deal than Obamacare, one would think that Senate Republicans would be eager to live under the new law.

The fact that Republicans exempted themselves from the new law proves that they know that their legislation is awful. The bill is so bad that they don’t want to use it get their insurance. If a healthcare bill isn’t good enough for Senate Republicans to use, then it is not good enough for the American people.

The Republican effort to repeal and replace Obamacare can’t die soon enough.
