President Trump didn’t stop at calling his own health care bill mean. While meeting with Republican Senators, Trump also called the bill a son of a b*tch and told Republicans to spend more money.
There is more to the story than Trump calling the Republican health care bill mean:
In a case of even a broken clock being right twice a day, Trump is correct the bill is cold-hearted and underfunded. However, one wonders if Trump really cares about the people who will be hurt by this legislation, or if his concern is based on the fact that the American Health Care Act is one of the most hated pieces of legislation ever proposed?
If Trump feels this strongly about the Republican health care bill, why does he keep praising it in public? If the President was a real leader, he would tell McConnell and Ryan that their bill isn’t good enough and threaten to veto it if it passes.
Trump’s outrage really isn’t about the people who will lose their coverage. Donald Trump is upset that he is going to get saddled with the political fallout from this bill. Trump is still most worried about Trump, which is why he will continue to praise a piece of legislation in public that he’s trashing in private.
