Republican Sen. Jim Risch of Idaho tried to get Comey to say that Trump never ordered him to end the Russia investigation. Instead, Comey explained how he took Trump’s words to be an order to end the Russia investigation.
Video:
Risch went around with Comey on whether or not Trump’s words were a direct order to end the Russia investigation, but the former FBI Director said that he took Trump’s statements about the Flynn investigation to mean, “I took it as, this is what he wants me to do.”
Risch tried to tamp down the possibility that Trump obstructed justice, but what happened was that Comey confirmed that Trump was interfering and trying to end the Russia investigation. James Comey has been a great witness and the worst case scenario for Donald Trump.
