Trump Sabotages His Muslim Ban With Tweet Storm Showing Unconstitutional Intent

As Trump’s travel ban case goes up, he chose to make sure the courts knew that he certainly did have discriminatory intent, lest they consider actually finding a way to justify it.

Still trying to use the London Bridge terrorist attack as a political weapon, President Trump attacked the Department of Justice Monday morning for “caving” with the “watered down” version of his “travel ban”. Yes, he emphasized he was going to call it what it is, “a TRAVEL BAN!”

“People, the lawyers and the courts can call it whatever they want, but I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!”

But the administration kept saying it wasn’t a ban, as pointed out by Keith Boykin:

Sean Spicer January 31: “It’s not a travel ban.”
Trump today: “I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!”

So much for all of the outrage over calling it a ban. It is a ban, people. The President himself said so.

Trump signed the newest version of travel ban, so it’s unclear why he’s blaming the DOJ.

It’s a Muslim ban, because its intent is to ban Muslims. The original order banned seven majority-Muslim countries: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan and Libya. The revised order took Iraq off of the list and removed the indefinite ban on Syrian refugees.

The Former special counsel at the Department of Defense indicated the problem with that last tweet:

Undeterred, the President continued:

And by “tougher”, Trump means more unconstitutional and still as ineffective, FYI.

Trump’s lawyers have to be cringing to see the President to admit that into evidence publicly.

Yes, we are “EXTREME VETTING” people coming into the U.S., per the extreme vetting done under President Obama. Everyone knows about this extreme vetting except Republicans, whose Google apparently doesn’t offer reality as an option on certain subjects.

Donald Trump often said there was “no system” for vetting, and PolitiFact found this “False” on June 13th, 2016.

Immigration has been slowed even under Obama when events warranted it, so this argument that Trump is making might sound good to his base on the surface but it is actually more fake gold.

A Judge in Hawaii who suspended the revised order cited a “dearth of evidence indicating a national security purpose.” The only real purpose of Trump’s Muslim ban is an appeal to his base with a topping of Putin undermining the U.S.’s (until now, perhaps) aspirational freedom and opportunity.

Trump was told not to use Twitter to unload for multiple reasons, not the least of which is our national security.

It’s clear Trump doesn’t care about national security – he shares secrets with the Russians in the Oval office, allowed a live stream of a national security meetings at Mar-a-Lago on Facebook, and leaks classified information almost compulsively. But Trump isn’t even doing the most basic things to protect his own political survival and the survival of his “Muslim ban”, which depend in part upon following his lawyers suggestions not to tweet.

Trump seems compelled to double down and sabotage himself while harming the U.S.A.
