Kellyanne Conway has not only vanished from public view, but she was also locked out of Trump’s Memorial Day motorcade.
According to the White House Press Pool report provided to PoliticusUSA, “Kellyanne Conway was also seen entering the motorcade from a distance. (She was initially locked out. A secret service agent had to pull on the door handle three times, then knocked on the door before someone unlocked it.)”
Conway has bragged in profiles about her closeness to Trump:
“When I want to talk to him, I go talk to him,” she said, emphasizing that she has “walk-in privileges,” meaning she can waltz into the Oval Office unannounced. “Eighty-five percent of what I discuss with him will never be revealed. It’s like any other boss–C-suite-employee relationship. I don’t need to talk to him through the TV. I just go in and talk to him.” This idea is very important to Conway, and she returns to it often — that she is as close an adviser to the president as there exists in the White House and can bend his ear at any time.
Conway is so close to the President that the White House motorcade locked her out, and nobody seemed to know that she wasn’t there. Kellyanne Conway had dreams of replacing Reince Priebus as White House Chief of Staff, but her fortunes have sunk so low that she is all but invisible on television, with the exception of always friendly Fox News, and the White House doesn’t even seem to know that she is missing when she isn’t there.
Kellyanne Conway has fallen a long way in a very short period of time.
