Reporter assaulting Republican Montana House special election candidate Greg Gianforte canceled an interview scheduled for 5 PM today with NBC’s Chuck Todd as he is too much of a coward to face the press and answer for his actions.
Meet The Press tweeted the cancellation:
Update: @GregForMontana's campaign has cancelled his appearance on @MSNBC's #MTPDaily this evening. https://t.co/vOZE8uURa9

If a candidate wanted to prove that they were fit for public service and willing to be held accountable for their actions, they would do the scheduled interview and answer questions like what were you thinking and why did you assault a reporter?
By assaulting a journalist and then dodging the press, the Gianforte strategy is to lay low and hope that the early vote is enough to carry him to victory.
What Gianforte did was criminal, and his cowardly hiding from the press shows that this is a man who should never hold elective office.
The Gianforte campaign should not be rewarded for their strategy of lying and hiding from the press.
An adult would take responsibility for their actions and be held publicly accountable. A coward is someone who first assaults an innocent person and then hides from the consequences.
Greg Gianforte is a coward.
