After Fox News had retracted a Seth Rich conspiracy theory story on their website, while the Rich family begs Hannity to stop spreading a baseless conspiracy theory to protect Trump, Sean Hannity freaked out on Twitter and claimed “liberal fascists” are trying to get him fired.
Hannity tweeted:
And in case you were wondering what Hannity’s panic is all about:
Fox News retracted a story based on the conspiracy theory that DNC staffer Seth Rich was murdered because he was the real hacker who leaked DNC emails to Wikileaks, not the Russian government.
In a statement, Fox News said, “Upon appropriate review, the article was found not to meet those standards and has since been removed. We will continue to investigate this story and will provide updates as warranted.”
Hannity refused to apologize or retract anything, but the Fox News retraction has the host worried about his job. The reality is that the Murdoch sons aren’t fans of Hannity. Sean Hannity was one of Roger Ailes’s favorites. Hannity is losing or barely winning his timeslot against MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell. His pushing of the Seth Rich conspiracy could be the last nudge that Fox needs to push Hannity off into podcast Siberia.
It isn’t “liberal fascists” who are trying to get Sean Hannity fired. It is Sean Hannity who is risking his own job by pushing a truly repulsive conspiracy theory to protect Trump.
