“Watch them start to choke like dogs,” President Trump is reported saying in a Time exclusive, speaking of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and the now fired Acting Attorney General Sally Yates.
The presidential talk continued as Trump replayed for the Time reporters DNI Clapper’s testimony in a May 8th Senate hearing. The section that delighted the President was when Republican Lindsey Graham put on a good show for people who don’t understand government by demanding of Clapper if he stands by his earlier statement that he knows of no evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.
“Trump waits quietly, until Clapper admits that nothing has changed. Trump pantomimes a sort of victory,” Michael Scherer and Zeke J. Miller reported for Time.
“’Yes. He was choking on that,’ the President chortles. ‘Is there any record at all of collusion? He was the head of the whole thing. He said no. That’s a big statement.’ Trump leaves unmentioned the fact that there is an ongoing FBI counterintelligence investigation into possible collusion, which has not yet reached any conclusions. Nor does he note that Clapper, out of government for nearly four months, could not possibly know everything the FBI has learned, and likely would have not known all even when he was in office. Trump also leaves unmentioned that he had a meeting that day with his new Deputy Attorney General about firing Comey, the director of that investigation.”
“The next clip starts to play, this time showing Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley asking Clapper and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates if they ever requested that the names of Trump, his associates or members of Congress be identified by name, or unmasked, in a legal intelligence intercept. ‘Watch them start to choke like dogs,’ Trump says, having fun. ‘Watch what happens. They are desperate for breath.’”
We are in deep delusion territory here, people. And this isn’t meant as a dig or to be snarky. This man isn’t fit to be president. He doesn’t have a positive relationship with reality.
Further indication of just how unfit for this job Donald Trump is was seen in his confused reaction to his firing of Comey. He expected Democrats to be happy about it because they had expressed dissatisfaction in Comey’s handling of the Clinton email investigation.
Trump can’t understand the political dynamics in his firing of Comey, so it’s no wonder Trump is so easily played by Russia. Trump has clearly been coddled in his figuratively small world where he could name reality and beat anyone who disagreed with a legal attack.
It’s stunning that we have a president who “chortles” about people who were doing their jobs “choking like dogs.”
Donald Trump isn’t in his right mind. He behaves like a vindictive child and his mental capabilities are about on par with those of a child. He is outmatched by even the crudest of political operators.
Even without the Russia scandal, this man shouldn’t be in office. Donald Trump suffers from a mental inability to discharge the powers and duties of his office.
Apparently I’m hardly alone in this thinking.
Trump thinks he’s winning, only because he doesn’t understand the game.
