Trump’s thoughts on the French presidential election were just as bad and off base as his presidency has been. Trump predicted that a terror attack would help the far-right candidate in France, but Marine Le Pen lost by more than 30 points.
Trump predicted:
Another terrorist attack in Paris. The people of France will not take much more of this. Will have a big effect on presidential election!

It turns out that America’s terrible president is also a terrible pundit.
Who knew that presidential elections could be so hard to win when a hostile foreign power is stopped from interfering on behalf of the right-wing candidate? If the French press had treated the Macron hack like the US press treated the Clinton email hack, the French election might have turned out differently.
The results of the French election show that Trump has no idea what he is doing. His election was a fluke that was fueled by a unique combination of a bogus email scandal, Russian election interference, and a corporate media that was more interested in ratings and revenue than the truth.
No one should expect Trump to get any better at being president because his political instincts flat out stink.
