Nancy Pelosi Basically Calls Republicans Idiots For Trying To Repeal Obamacare Again

Democratic House Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) didn’t pull any punches when asked about the latest Republican rush to try to pass an Obamacare repeal bill. Pelosi made it clear that Republicans are empowering Democrats and setting themselves up for failure by following the same stupid path that failed last month.

Pelosi said during a taping of PBS’s Overheard With Evan Smith:
Timing is the most important thing — timing to bring up a bill when you have the votes. They’re doing what they did before. They’re saying, ‘We’re going to do this next week, before the 100 days.’ Well, they’re not really ready.

….

What they did [last month] was totally mean-spirited, which is to say, ‘We’re going to bring up a bill, sight-unseen, ready-or-not, on the seventh anniversary of when President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act. They totally empowered us, because they were completely not ready. … Now they’re bringing up the same bill,” Pelosi said. “A great Texan, Ann Richards, used to say, ‘You can put lipstick on a sow and call her Monique and she’s still a pig.’

That’s what this bill is. It’s the same terrible bill.

The underlying point that Pelosi appeared to be making was that only a gang of idiots would bring up a more extreme version of a bill that failed last month in the same half-baked and unprepared way.

Pelosi knows what she is talking about. As Speaker of the House during Obama’s first 100 days, she oversaw 11 bills that were passed into law. Donald Trump has had 0 pieces of major legislation passed into law.

Only an idiot would not change their failing process and still expect a successful result.

Pelosi is right. Republicans are empowering Democrats their Obamacare follies, and in the process are doing everything they can to lose the House in 2018.
