Speaker of the House Paul Ryan had a message for America after humiliating himself by trying to pass a health care bill that nobody wanted. Ryan told the country that doing big things is hard.
Video:
Sounding like someone who has never before had to do anything difficult in his life, Speaker Ryan said, “I will not sugarcoat this. Doing big things is hard.” Ryan went on to provide such deep insights as being in the majority is also hard because it is easier to be in the minority and just have to oppose things.
These words are coming from a man who many in the Republican Party consider smart and a “policy wonk.” It turns out that Paul Ryan is neither smart nor a policy wonk. Ryan is simply a guy who is in way over his head who ran smack into the same brick wall of far-right ideologues who drove John Boehner into retirement.
Paul Ryan was sent to Congress to do hard things. The people in our government are supposed to make hard choices. By not being able to deliver, Paul Ryan showed that is not up to the job of being Speaker of the House.
