Former Vice President Joe Biden delivered the plain truth to America at a health care rally in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, and in the process, the former vice president hammered the final nail into the Republican health care bill’s coffin.

Biden said:
There’s nothing fundamentally changed in the Republican Party in the last 12-15 years except they got a president now who’s a little more colorful. But look, folks here’s the deal, when you cut to the chase, we’re talking about eliminating close to a trillion dollars in benefits that go to people to be able to meet the commitment that we made to people that healthcare is a right, and transferring that to the wealthy.
That’s what this is all about. It’s about a transfer tax, basically.
Eliminating the Affordable Care Act means eliminating an awful lot of things that people badly need in return for what? So the .9 percent in taxes for people making over 250,000 couples can be returned to them? So drug companies and insurance companies and medical device companies can benefit? It’s a transfer of about a trillion dollars to those folks out there from everybody in the country. That’s what this is, and that’s classic Republican politics. This is a tax bill to them.
Republicans already don’t have enough votes to pass the bill. The last thing that Trump and the Republican Party needed was the popular former vice president returning to the national stage to clearly explain in simple terms why the GOP bill is a bad deal for ordinary Americans.
Biden was correct. The Republican legislation is a transfer of wealth through a tax bill. It may have health care in the title, but the point of the American Health Care Act is to redistribute resources to the richest Americans by taking away from everyone else.
Former VP Biden promised that the bill wouldn’t pass, and his remarks went a long way towards making that prediction a reality.
