During an interview on Fox News, Eric Trump sounded completely terrified and more than a little worried that his father’s tax returns would be leaked.

Eric Trump told Fox News, “It’s a sad environment where tax returns are leaked by whoever it may be and I mean, just think about it, think about how dangerous that is? How third-world that is of a practice that happened, when personal information is being put out by people for political agendas. And as a civilian, that’s actually scary to me.”
How scary is that? People might have information about the president’s potential conflicts of interest.
The comments by Eric Trump didn’t sound like strength or defiance. Those comments were made out of fear. There are things in the Trump family finances that may not only wreck Donald Trump’s presidency but could take down his children as well. One suspects that the Trump family is hiding the tax returns because of activity that could lead to more scrutiny and investigation. Eric Trump’s fear suggests that this goes deeper than Donald Trump’s political fortunes.
There is something, or many somethings, in the Trump tax returns. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow caught a lot of criticism for what some said was overhyping her report on Trump’s 2005 tax return, but her report brought the issue of Trump’s tax returns to the top of the news.
The Trump’s are worried for a reason, and it is up to journalists and the American people to find out what the First Family doesn’t want us to know.
