Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) has announced that he will vote against the Republican health care bill. Heller is the third Republican to oppose the bill. If all Democrats vote against the legislation along with the Republicans, Trumpcare will be dead.
The tight three-week schedule that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have set for passage of the bill does not leave supporters much time to rally the votes that they will need for the American Health Care Act to become law.
With the House Freedom Caucus remaining opposed to the legislation, the bill may not make it out of the House. If Trumpcare survives the House, it looks like it could be heading for a certain death in the Senate.
While House Republicans oppose Obamacare replacement because it contains too much Obamacare, Senate Republicans like Collins and Heller are concerned about killing the Medicaid expansion and throwing millions off of their health insurance.
There seems to be too much opposition for too many different reasons for Republicans to overcome.
