The top-ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) had some bad news for President Trump. The committee will be investigating potential Trump campaign collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.
Video:
Rep. Schiff said, “I’m saying in our committee as part of our investigation, we have not investigated that yet. That will be investigated. We don’t know the answer. We shouldn’t pre-judge it, and any conversations that Gang of Eight or any others have with IC (Intelligence Community) officials are not the conclusion of our committee. They are not the end point of our investigation. They can’t be.”
The top-ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee was responding to Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) who said, “There is no evidence that I’ve been presented [by the intelligence community] of regular contact with anybody in the Trump campaign.”
The bad news for Trump is that there is going to be an investigation into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the presidential election. The White House and Republicans aren’t going to be able to bury this investigation.
It is clear that Trump allies in Congress are trying to prevent an examination of the campaign’s conduct during the 2016 election. Democrats are pushing hard and one way or another, they are going to investigation potential Trump campaign collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.
The story isn’t going away, and every time the White House tries to bury the Russia scandal, it comes back to haunt them with more unanswered questions.
