Trump Shows Email Scandal Was Total BS By Breaking Promise To Investigate Hillary Clinton

What the President-elect first signaled during his 60 Minutes interview has become a reality as the incoming Trump administration has broken their promise to Republicans to investigate Hillary Clinton.

Kellyanne Conway broke it to Trump supporters that “lock her up,” is now, “eh, whatever” during an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe:

Joe Scarborough asked Conway about Trump promise of an investigation into Hillary Clinton.

She answered, “I think that when the president-elect who’s now the head of your party tells you before he’s even inaugurated that he doesn’t wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message in tone and content. And I think Hillary Clinton still has to face the fact that a majority of Americans don’t find her to be honest and trustworthy, but if Donald Trump can help her heal, then perhaps that’s a good thing.”

Conway also suggested that the president-elect doesn’t consider promises that he made during the campaign to be binding. In other words, Trump was never going to lock Hillary Clinton up. It was all a lie just to get his supported to the polls.

During his 60 Minutes interview, Trump signaled that this was coming by completely changing his tone on the Clintons. He said, “I don’t want to hurt them. I don’t want to hurt them. They’re good people.”

Republicans haven’t uttered a peep about continuing to investigate Hillary Clinton because there is nothing else to investigate. The scandal was always a house of cards that was built on conspiracy theories. There were few facts, and never any proof of criminal activity.

Trump’s abandonment of his promise to lock her up is an admission that the email scandal was total BS that was designed to do nothing more than to help Republicans win the election. Some who voted for Trump may already feel betrayed, but with the president-elect promising the moon and having no concrete plans for how to deliver, the betrayals may be only beginning.
